EVA hot-melt adhesive is a 100% solid, meltable polymer that requires no solvents and contains no water. It exists as a solid at room temperature but transforms into a flowable, tacky liquid adhesive when heated to a specific temperature; in its molten state, it appears as a light-brown translucent substance or an off-white material. The primary component-or base resin-of the adhesive is produced by copolymerizing ethylene and vinyl acetate under high pressure; this is then combined with additives such as tackifiers, viscosity modifiers, and antioxidants to create the final hot-melt product.
EVA is a plastic material composed of ethylene (E) and vinyl acetate (VA). The ratio of these two chemical components can be adjusted to meet the requirements of various applications; a higher vinyl acetate (VA) content results in increased transparency, flexibility, and toughness.
