ABS edge banding is manufactured via an extrusion process using acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) copolymer as the primary raw material. As a thermoplastic engineering plastic, ABS combines the chemical resistance of acrylonitrile, the toughness of butadiene, and the ease of processing associated with styrene; consequently, the resulting edge banding offers excellent impact resistance, wear resistance, and weatherability. Its surface can be treated with printing or embossing techniques to replicate textures such as fabric or wood grain, thereby meeting diverse decorative requirements.
Furthermore, ABS exhibits strong adhesion to adhesives, ensuring a tight bond with the edges of the board that resists cracking or detachment over long-term use.
