ABS Edge Banding: Selection and Matching Recommendations

As a common type of edge banding, ABS strips are frequently chosen for furniture and cabinetry applications due to their material properties and manufacturing advantages.

When selecting ABS edge banding, it is important to ensure that the thickness (typically 0.5–3 mm) and width (12–60 mm) align with the specifications of the board. Insufficient thickness may compromise strength, while excessive thickness increases costs and makes proper adhesion difficult.

The color and texture should harmonize with the board's surface; for instance, light-colored boards pair well with white or light wood-grain banding, whereas dark boards suit dark gray or walnut finishes. If specific visual effects-such as high-gloss or matte finishes-are required, one should request details regarding the surface treatment process from the supplier to ensure the final result meets expectations.
