The base material of PVC edge banding consists of PVC resin, calcium carbonate powder, and various additives (such as stabilizers, DOP oil, ACR, stearic acid, white carbon black, pigments, and anti-aging agents). The quality of the trimmed edge depends on the formulation ratio of these base materials.

PVC Wood-Grain Edge Banding
This product is created by printing ink onto the PVC substrate, followed by roller-coating and curing with UV lacquer.
The realism of the wood-grain effect depends largely on the quality of the ink used. Market prices for ink range from 20 to 160 RMB per kilogram; high-quality ink yields a finish that closely resembles the actual board, offers rich printing depth, and shows no significant indoor fading within three years. Currently, edge banding with rich visual depth is primarily produced using three-color printing, followed by two-color and single-color printing.

ABS Edge Banding

ABS resin is one of the most advanced materials available internationally. Edge banding made from ABS contains no calcium carbonate; after trimming, the edge appears translucent and smooth, with absolutely no whitening effect. However, with a market price of around 12,800 RMB per ton, production costs are high, resulting in a market price roughly double that of equivalent PVC edge banding. Finger-jointed solid wood veneer edge banding is primarily used for wood-veneer furniture. Non-woven fabric is bonded to the back to reinforce the veneer and prevent cracking. Supplied in 200-meter rolls, it allows for continuous use on edge-banding machines, improving efficiency and ensuring a clean, neat trim-thereby overcoming the drawbacks associated with using single strips of veneer.

Melamine Edge Banding
Commonly known as "paper edge banding," this material is easy to bond and resistant to expansion, contraction, or deformation caused by temperature changes. However, due to its brittle nature, it is prone to snapping and can easily be damaged by impact during furniture manufacturing and handling.
